Day 1: Arrival in Madurai
Madurai, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in India, has been a prominent centre of Tamil culture and spirituality for over two thousand years. Once ruled by the Pandya dynasty, it remains a vibrant temple town known for its Dravidian architecture and classical heritage.
Upon arrival at Madurai Airport or Railway Station, our representative will receive you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in and some rest, begin your city exploration with the magnificent Meenakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar, and renowned for its towering gopurams and intricate sculptures. Continue to Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple, an ancient rock-cut temple dating back to the 8th century. Later, visit the grand Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, admired for its majestic pillars and royal architecture. You may also explore the Gandhi Memorial Museum before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Madurai – Rameshwaram
Rameshwaram is one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in India and forms part of the Char Dham circuit. Closely associated with the epic Ramayana, it is believed to be the place where Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva before crossing over to Lanka.
After breakfast, check out and proceed by road to Rameshwaram. Upon arrival and hotel check-in, begin your spiritual tour with a visit to the revered Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, famous for its impressive corridors and sacred wells. Continue to Agnitheertham, located by the sea and considered highly sacred for ritual baths. Later, explore Dhanushkodi, the scenic coastal town at the edge of the island, along with Ramar Padam and the legendary Adam's Bridge. Overnight stay in Rameshwaram.
Day 3: Rameshwaram – Kanyakumari
Kanyakumari, situated at the southernmost tip of mainland India, holds immense spiritual and geographical significance. It is the unique meeting point of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean, and is well known for its breathtaking sunrise and sunset views.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kanyakumari. On arrival and hotel check-in, visit the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial, built in honour of Swami Vivekananda where he meditated before embarking on his spiritual mission. Offer prayers at the sacred Kumari Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kanya Kumari. Continue to Suchindram Temple, known for its unique representation of the Hindu Trinity, and visit Triveni Sangam, where the three seas converge. In the evening, enjoy the spectacular sunset at Kanyakumari Beach before returning to your hotel.
Day 4: Kanyakumari – Departure
After breakfast, you may enjoy a relaxed morning or revisit the beach to witness a beautiful sunrise over the waters. Later, you will be transferred to the nearest airport or railway station for your onward journey, marking the conclusion of a memorable pilgrimage and cultural tour through South India.
