Experience some of South India’s most revered temples, magnificent palaces, scenic hill stations, and vibrant local traditions on one enriching journey.


Day 1: Tirupati

 

Arrive in Tirupati by flight or train to begin your South India pilgrimage journey. Our tour representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and take some time to relax and unwind.

In the evening, you may opt for a short sightseeing tour of Tirupati and explore the surroundings at your leisure.

Day 2: Tirupati – Bangalore


After breakfast, proceed for darshan at the revered Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple at Tirumala, followed by a visit to the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple at Tiruchanur. Located at the foothills of Tirumala, the Padmavathi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Padmavathi, the divine consort of Lord Venkateshwara. Visiting both temples forms an important part of the pilgrimage experience for many devotees.

After darshan and lunch, proceed to Bangalore. The journey takes approximately 4.5 hours by road or around 6 hours by train. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the remainder of the day relaxing or exploring the nearby surroundings.

Day 3: Bangalore – Mysore


After breakfast, set out to explore Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka and one of South India’s most vibrant cities. Founded by Kempe Gowda I in the 16th century, Bangalore has evolved from a historic fortified settlement into a modern metropolitan city while retaining its rich cultural heritage.

During the city tour, visit the beautiful Cubbon Park, Tippu Sultan’s Summer Palace, Mayo Hall, Attara Kacheri, the magnificent Bangalore Palace, and the historic Bull Temple in Basavanagudi.

Later, check out from the hotel and proceed to Mysore, located approximately 2.5 hours away by road. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax.

Day 4: Mysore – Ooty


After breakfast, begin your exploration of Mysore, the historic royal city of Karnataka. Closely associated with the Wadiyar dynasty, Mysore is renowned for its magnificent palaces, temples, gardens, and rich traditions. The city also derives its name from the legendary story of Mahishasura and Goddess Chamundeshwari.

Visit the spectacular Mysore Palace, the sacred Chamundeshwari Temple, the historic Somnathapura Temple, the Jaganmohan Palace and Art Gallery, Lalitha Mahal, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, and the picturesque Brindavan Gardens.

Later, check out and proceed to Ooty, a scenic drive of approximately 3.5 hours. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax amidst the cool mountain climate.

Day 5: Ooty


Ooty, officially known as Udhagamandalam, is one of the most popular hill stations in the Nilgiri Hills of the Western Ghats. Often called the Queen of the Hills, Ooty is celebrated for its lush tea plantations, mist-covered mountains, scenic lakes, colonial heritage, and the historic Nilgiri Mountain Railway.

After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour covering some of Ooty’s most popular attractions. Visit the Government Botanical Gardens, Ooty Rose Garden, Doddabetta Peak, Pykara Falls, Avalanche Lake, the Tea Factory, and the scenic surroundings of the Nilgiris. Depending on the itinerary and time available, you may also explore the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.

Return to your hotel after a day surrounded by the natural beauty of the Nilgiris.

Day 6: Ooty – Madurai


After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Madurai, the historic Temple City of Tamil Nadu. The journey takes approximately 7 hours by road.

En route, stop at Dolphin’s Nose in Coonoor to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Nilgiri hills and valleys.

Upon arrival in Madurai, check into your hotel and freshen up. In the evening, visit the magnificent Meenakshi Amman Temple for darshan and experience the spiritual atmosphere of one of South India’s most important pilgrimage centres.

Later, explore the lively streets and traditional shops surrounding the temple, where you can shop for local handicrafts, souvenirs, textiles, and other specialties.

Day 7: Madurai


After breakfast, continue exploring Madurai, one of India’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and a major centre of Tamil culture, history, and spirituality.

Visit the Gandhi Memorial Museum, the magnificent Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam, Rajaji Park, and the revered Alagar Kovil.

Later, enjoy some time shopping in the traditional markets of Madurai and sample some of the city’s famous local delicacies and street food.

Return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.


Day 8: Madurai – Rameswaram


After breakfast, proceed to Rameswaram, one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in India and an important part of the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to relax. Later, explore the spiritual and historical attractions of Rameswaram, including the iconic Pamban Bridge, the traditional Agraharams surrounding the Ramanathaswamy Temple, Dhanushkodi, and the Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Memorial.

Day 9: Rameswaram – Kanyakumari


After breakfast, proceed to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of mainland India. The journey takes approximately 5.5 hours by road.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend some time relaxing. Later, explore some of Kanyakumari’s iconic attractions, including the Gandhi Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue.

As evening approaches, head to the coast to witness the spectacular sunset over the meeting point of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean.

Day 10: Kanyakumari – Departure


Begin your final day with the beautiful sunrise at Kanyakumari, followed by darshan at the sacred Bhagavathi Amman Temple.

Continue your sightseeing with visits to the historic Suchindram Temple, the revered Adi Kesava Perumal Temple at Thiruvattar, and the magnificent Padmanabhapuram Palace, an outstanding example of traditional Kerala-style architecture and the former seat of the Travancore royal family.

Later, check out from the hotel and proceed to Coimbatore for your onward journey, marking the end of your South India spiritual and cultural tour.
